Project: NIH U54 Grant Proposal – Translational Research to Promote Health Equity in Rural Areas

Description: Client needed guidance on the analysis portion of an NIH grant proposal with a three week deadline. Specifically, client needed power analyses for multivariate models conducted for sample size considerations. Working alongside the client, the BDS Center conducted the analysis and delivered a written report to be used in the grant proposal within the three week timeframe. This grant proposal was submitted to the NIH on December 11th, 2017.

Project: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Study - Pre-Hospital quick Sequential Organ Function Assessment (qSOFA) as a Predictor of Sepsis

Description: Client needed assistance performing statistical analyses on EMS data. Specifically, client needed sensitivity and specificity analyses performed on data collected from a new medical tool as well as predictive analyses performed on hospital outcomes. Working alongside the client, the BDS Center completed these analyses and helped incorporate the results into a professional manuscript. This manuscript was submitted to an academic journal on April 9th, 2018.

Project: Pediatric Study – An Epidemiological Assessment of Congenital Infections: Analysis of Nationally Representative Hospital Discharge Data for 0 to 2 Year Olds.

Description: Client needed assistance performing statistical analyses on complex survey data. Specifically, client needed risk factor analyses performed on nationally representative hospital discharge data. Working alongside the client, the BDS Center completed these analyses and helped incorporate the results into a professional manuscript. Client intends to submit manuscript to an academic journal by June 1st, 2018.
